Ohio Tree Assessment and Consulting LLC was formed to give our clients an intellectual 'upper hand' in the tree preservation process.
In Ohio, anyone advertised as an expert in arboriculture can provide estimates, prescribe work, and have their company complete that work. This creates the potential for unethical bias, where an individual may recommend the removal of a tree for their own financial gain (tree industry sales are often based on commission) when the tree could have been preserved under the guidance of an unbiased, preservation-focused, certified arborist. An unqualified individual may also fail to prescribe work following industry standards.

OTAC exists to provide unbiased, data-driven assessments completed by highly credentialed staff. This gives tree owners and managers the power to make informed decisions when choosing which services to perform on their trees and eliminates the uncertainty of potentially underqualified assessors. Our overarching goal is to preserve as many trees in the landscape as possible by revealing new preservation pathways that our clients may not be aware of.
